STUDIO LEAD DESIGNER

Job Description :

We are looking for experienced games executive with core experience in Game Design and Level Design in AAA game development projects for next gen consoles and PC. As a Studio Lead Designer you will be responsible for the Game and Level Design of our projects at our Studio in Warsaw (Poland). You will monitor our projects through development, ensuring that they adhere to the vision and direction, meeting the highest standard within required timescales. You will provide creative ideas, new game concepts and leadership to the design and development team. Ideally, you have experience with various video game genders. Responsibilities: • Conceptualization and in-depth development of the game and level design documents. • Script writing and game level design. • Maintain strong and clear communication with the different department leads (producers, art directors, technical directors), ensuring documentation is fully understood and implemented correctly. • Keep all documents for the project updated and maintain regular updates of all design aspects of the game to maintain the overall quality. • Set the design documentation standards. • Ensure that all allocated design work is documented in accordance with the standards outlined. • Produce the required documentation in the timeframe agreed. • Ensure the vision of the game is clear in all documentation. • Ensure decisions allocated at design meeting are fully carried out and that the vision is carried through • Develop prototypes and explore new game ideas. Research and development, run market studies and propose new game concepts/ideas. • Active participation in recruitment and expansion of the design team.

Job Requirements :

• Proficiency in English. French and Polish are a Plus. • Diploma in one of the following: computer science, multimedia, computer graphics, video games or equivalent. • Passion for video games and their history. • Good understanding of scripting and/or basic computer programming. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to communicate complex solutions to problems encountered. • Able to work under pressure to tight deadlines and open to doing occasional over-time. • Excellent team-work ability and proven leadership skills. • Strong imagination and open-spirit! • Customer Service focus. • Diplomatic when faced with issues. • Able to accept and act upon constructive criticism. • Take on board other opinions and evaluate them objectively. • Able to constructively critique others work. • Mentoring and Coaching. • Experience with creation tools. • Familiar with 3DSMax, Maya, Sketchup or other 3D design programs. • Experience with multimedia software (Office, Adobe). • Detailed knowledge of the technical Pipeline and all the process needed to make a game. • Expertise and credits as Senior Game and Level Designer for several AAA games, (preferably on PC or next gen console) and several games developed from concept to box, (Action/adventure or Shooters game experience will be a big advantage). SENIOR GRAPHIC/RENDERING ENGINEER

Based in the center of Paris, our client is a 20 people indie game studio, dedicated to a promising next-generation Sci-Fi MMO game featuring a huge persistent, open and editable sandbox world composed of thousands of planets. The company operates on funds successfully raised from private investors and remains entirely independent. They are developing their own technologies: procedural generation, voxel, dual contouring rendering and single shard server. They are passionate about high quality games, and believe in the potential of emergent systemic gameplay. They actively seek out like-minded top talents to help us create an immersive experience and push forward the limits of the MMO genre. We are looking for a seasoned graphics programmer who enjoys a collaborative and creative work environment and is looking to push the boundaries to render cutting edge 3D voxels in our rendering engine. You will research, develop, implement, and optimize high-end and photorealistic graphics techniques applicable in large-scale environments. You could be working on: real time global illumination and shadowing, atmospheric simulation, large scale vegetation, geometry processing, highly dynamic scene graph, etc. This position works closely with the artists, the other R&D engineers (voxel, procedural generation, engine) and the game programmers. Responsibilities Manage one of our teams of 70+ Junior and Senior 3D model and texture artists engaged in next gen projects. Participate to recruitment and training of new talent. Establish Art production pipeline in coordination with clients. Ensure technical and artistic quality of deliverables. Manage communication with clients about artistic and technical matters. Reports to Art Studio Director.

Job Requirements :

  • Expert in 3DSMax or Maya, Photoshop, Zbrush.
  • College / University degree in Art related field (including architecture, industrial design, textile/fashion design). Strong artistic aptitudes and skills in 2D design, drawing, painting.
  • At least 4 years experience as Lead Artisit, Senior Artist or Artist Team Leader with hangs-on technical experience including X-Box, PS3 and PS2, and proven track record on real-time 3D games.
  • Highly organized individual with an eye for details and a passion for leading and mentoring. Good working knowledge of English is a must.
